Set against the sun-bleached grit of Los Angeles, Crime 101 weaves the tale of an elusive jewel thief (Chris Hemsworth) whose string of heists along the 101 freeway have mystified police. When he eyes the score of a lifetime, his path crosses that of a disillusioned insurance broker (Halle Berry) who is facing her own crossroads. Convinced he has found a pattern, a relentless detective (Mark Ruffalo) is closing in, raising the stakes even higher. As the heist approaches, the line between hunter and hunted begins to blur, and all three are faced with life-defining choices--and the realization that there can be no turning back. Adapted from Don Winslow's acclaimed novella of the same name, the film is written and directed by Bart Layton (American Animals, The Imposter). Barry Keoghan, Monica Barbaro, Corey Hawkins, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Nick Nolte round out the cast.

2 hours and 20 minutes of total boredom. There was nothing good about this movie except for looking at Chris Hemsworth’s biceps. No depth , no backstory , no character development. Too much filler that meant nothing and tied into nothing. Good actors , terribly written movie.

I like movies that start with something that draws you in, which this did. I also like that the movie focused on the individual characters. Not a big fan of Liam Hemsworth, but he did a good job. Other than that I loved the cast.

I liked the acting, storyline and action of the movie. I did not like the lack of depth in the development of the characters. It was a long movie to have not included more than the implied back stories of the main characters. Overall, I really enjoyed the movie even though I had to fill in the gaps that I felt were missing.

While the plot is implausible, I think it's worth a watch, because it's an actor's showcase. Chris Hemsworth, Halle Berry, Mark Ruffalo, and Monica Barbaro, the leads, are all great. I particularly enjoyed seeing Berry again in a major role shining like the star she is.
