  • Crocodile remains a shocking depiction of day-to-day struggles in a dog-eat-dog world. It also comes with one of those hauntingly beautiful endings for which Kim has since become rightly famous.

  • Raw in every sense of the word, Crocodile is another fine exponent of Korean cinema.

  • That it tells a harsh story with such imaginative film techniques and striking symbolism makes Crocodile an interesting, engaging, and ultimately very human film.

  • that film's preoccupation with suicide and the need to find light even in the darkest realms of human existence demonstrates that these have been issues with which Kim has long grappled.

  • Kim Ki-duk directs another violent, but meaningful film, as he focuses on his characters and particularly Crocodile, who symbolizes the hopelessness of the world, since, despite all his efforts, he cannot surpass his own nature

reminiscent of "bad guy" at times but only because "crocodile" has a similar persona. the production quality is low and b-movie'ish like "the isle" but this really plays well to the rawness that KKD loves to depict. the imagery of the final scene is absolutely unforgettable. i was seriously dazed in awe and watched the last 5 seconds over and over. a humble beginning for KKD? not really.. he had the outsider angle covered from the get go.
