Movie Info

An out-of-work actress returns to her rural childhood village to care for her Alzheimer's-stricken mother, and struggles to help the locals retain their rich history and sense of identity in the face of fast-moving progress. Ten years after leaving Ho Chung Village to become an actress, Cheung Lai Yee is back in the New Territories, and noticing the changes all around. Her mother's memory is failing, and the distinguishing character of their once distinctive village is slowly being eroded in the face of modernization. As Lai Yee reaches out to her mother emotionally while working a series of odd jobs, she devises a plan to preserve the character of her community by reenacting the stories told by her nostalgic friends and neighbors. Meanwhile, as she reconnects with her former classmate Lin Jin, Lai Yee finds her past and her future coming together in a way she never anticipated.
