Pretty much a tame and inconsequential affair.
For anybody who wants to know what is the on-screen definition of Bollywood (read popular mainstream Hindi cinema), Dabangg is truly text book fare.
Mad stuff!
The movie provides nothing unique but is an average entertainer. IMO, watch it only if you don't have any other better option. Salman Khan, Vinod Khanna & Arbaaz Khan are as usual, while debutant Sonakshi Sinha doesn't get much to do. Anupam Kher & Om Puri are wasted.
Super Reviewer
The best thing about this macho action masala flick is the dialogues. The dialogues are mostly clever and funny and provides most of the fun. Salman shone in the tailor made role. Expect more films of this kind from him. Sonu Sood was good, the guy is so underutilised in most flims. Sonakshi was the most confident debut I've seen since Hrithik. No kidding. The music is awesome. The action scenes are over the top, just as they are meant to be. Over all, its like a Telugu film made in Hindi and it is fun while it lasts.
