Movie Info

Dabangg 2 is a continuation of the amazing exploits of Chulbul 'Robin Hood' Pandey. The notable facets of the character include his nonchalance, his wry sense of humor and his tongue-in-cheek dialogues. This film begins with Chulbul (Now married to Rajjo- Sonkashi Sinha) moving on from being a local inspector in a small town Laalganj to becoming an Inspector-in-charge of Bajariya Thana, a police station in Kanpur, the largest and most populous city in Uttar Pradesh. After arriving in Kanpur, Chulbul immediately gets into action thus bringing him in conflict with Baccha Bhaiyya.

Mostly likable thanks to its creators' preference for lighthearted mugging over self-serious teeth-gnashing.

For Salman Khan fans, it's manna from heaven... Those who like a coherent narrative and dramatic arc, though, won't enjoy the ride so much.

Dabangg 2 was supposed to be an absurd, raunchy masala movie, and it is, but not a good one.

The ultimate boss battle rivals anything you might have seen in Zack Snyder's similarly ludicrous 300, and the stage is set for yet more ridiculous Pandey adventures further down the line.

The List

It's a testosterone-fuelled Salman Khan fest with no meaningful plot, as the story is hinged on a sequence of contrived confrontations with the bad guys, that serve to demonstrate his worthiness for hero-worship.

Audience Reviews for Dabangg 2

Just another action drama with bits of comedy forced in that wasn't funny enough. Not the worst of its year, but it wouldn't have gained as much box-office success had it not starred Salman Khan. Kudos to Salman Khan fans for turning a mediocre into a mega hit. Check it out for yourself (apparently, at your own risk) & see if his performance is outstanding enough to make you his fan. On a side-note (not to defend anyone), the script itself is so mediocre that there's hardly any scope for outstanding performance by anyone. It seems that the character formation is not given enough consideration. 1/5 would suffice.
