The title tells it all, and when you cast Eddie Murphy in that role, you know you've got the attention of the family trade who will have an almost hypocritically high tolerance for raunchy gags.

I'm not offended by its singular lack of energy or invention - I never expected more than a cinematic Big Mac when I saw Eddie Mur-phy's name above the title 'Daddy Day Care.' But what I got was a sandwich from a gas station.

[Murphy's] charming enough in this restrained mode.

Furthers Eddie Murphy's transformation into Bill Cosby. Two things are wrong with that. Bill Cosby already is Bill Cosby, and Eddie Murphy used to be Eddie Murphy.

The kids will like it, as kids always do. It is after all for them. Unfortunately, it is not for you, and thus any parent will have a lousy time.

Efficient, if cloying, does manage to hit its target, even if it's aiming very low.

To expect magnificence would have been futile; I was perfectly willing to settle for entertaining.

It's a concept more than a movie, and its jokes and sight gags seem mostly improvised or dashed off.

The most surprising thing about Daddy Day Care is how entertaining it is, despite the juvenile humor and laughably predictable storyline.

Murphy needs to do two things: fire his agent, and learn to discern when a script is worth doing or not.

Daddy Day Care has its heart and priorities in the right place, even if the jokes dwindle as it goes on.

Kudos to Eddie Murphy for adopting a more low-key approach in 'Daddy Day Care' and for letting his fine supporting cast get most of the laughs.

By the very nature that it is more appealing than a lobotomy, Daddy Day Care is a superior [Eddie] Murphy venture.

Daddy Day Care is a movie about preschoolers, for preschoolers, and probably made by preschoolers.

Murphy is so oddly bland in Daddy Day Care that it seems like he sleepwalked through the making of the film.

The film seems longer than its 93-minute running time, but kids will probably enjoy its potty humor.
