One line summary: Poor cinematography and sound complement bad acting and screenplay.

Hartigan and a plainclothesman apprehend a suspect and load him into a paddy wagon to get him to jail. That does not work well. Both policemen are killed. Hartigan's partner Steve gets a new partner, McGowan, who gets ravaged soon after by the same suspect.

While investigating near the pub where the murders occured, Steve meets the old lady Mary, and the waitress Josie. Mary tells Steve about the DarkWolf and about the DarkWolf's designated mate. So, Josie is the mate that DarkWolf is looking for, and she will be going through some changes that very night.

Soon after DarkWolf wounds McGowan, he wounds Mary mortally. Before she dies, she tells Steve that he needs to read this giant book that she has with her. When the ambulance arrives, Steve forgets the book and attends to McGowan. One of the dancers, Stacey, snags the book and takes it to a photo shoot. Josie was to be at the shoot. While waiting for her, Stacey shows the book to the makeup guy Miguel and photographer, Tom. There are lots of illustrations. They paint Stacey and Anna (full body) in the style of the book, and start taking photos of the two models as they dance.

The book, of course, should have been in Steve's hands to study, so that he could help Josie through the troubles she was about to experience. Instead we get a lot footage of gratuitous painted naked ladies.

The DarkWolf is also attracted to the book, so the people at the photo shoot are in danger as well.

Will Josie make it through the transformations? Will the DarkWolf attain his goal?

Cinematography: 2/10 Some very bad SFX. Odd camera angles, sudden switches to closeups of very bad werewolf masks, some shaky camera. The SFX of the DarkWolf in four-footed mode are particularly poor.

Sound: 4/10 The actors are often poorly miked; the voices are often hollow or overdriven. In some segments, the music is looped with an overlay of moans, gasps, and groans. One might as well be watching and adult film.

Acting: 2/10 The two leads, Samaire Armstrong and Ryan Alosio, are particularly poor at delivering lines. When Samaire Armstrong tries to sound authoritative and commanding, she sounds screechy and ineffective instead. It was nice to see Tippi Hedren again, but her role was rather abbreviated.

Screenplay: 2/10 Awkward dialog. Strange story told in an odd, unconvincing way. Lots of gratuitous skin that has little to do with the main plot lines. Way too many poor werewolf jokes.

Straight-to-video horror silliness. If you're in the mood for cheesiness, this film might pass the time, but it's far from being a quality werewolf film. You do get Kane Hodder, and even Tippi Hedren, but the film really does seem like it's the Andy Sidaris version of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." You also get to see some of the most laughably bad CGI ever committed to film.

Boring, exploitation horror film with no redeeming qualities at all.

Very much 'so bad it's funny enough to make you laugh'

cheep. Like Taco Bell or Krystals after a night of drinking.

Save yourself a lot of time and pain by missing this one. The special effects aren't anywhere near what would be considered TV quality even twenty years ago. The acting is poor and to substitute for story telling, they have gobs of nudity. Terrible, terrible movie.

If you see one film this year, it better be Dark Wolf!

"Dark Wolf" is a completely horrible horror movie (no 'horrible horror' is not something good). In the movie we follow a special agent werewolf hunter (Ryan Alosio) on a mission to save a girl (Samaire Armstrong) from becoming the mating partner to the werewolf known as 'Dark Wolf' (Kane Hodder). Shitty acting, terrible story and some of the worst make-up and 'CGI' (I wouldn't call it that, I mean Playstation 1 games had better graphics) effects I have ever seen (and this movie came out in 2003). Totally laughable and really embarrassing for anyone involved in the movie, worth checking out with a friend or two so you can laugh through the whole thing or if you a desperate for some female nudity.

There is a werewolf known as the Dark Wolf running around town looking for a special girl to mate with. That's the plot although in the movie they try to make it sound less stupid.
Anyway, this is a direct to video feature where everything is bad but, it's got nudity and girls making out with each other (since a guy and a girl making out with each other is soooo yesterday) and Samarie Armstrong is cute looking (she's one of two women in this movie that doesn't get naked.)
If bad movies are your thing, this one might be worth a watch; the special effects for the werewolf transformations are awful cgi effects.

Highlight of the movie: werewolves jokes.

It blows my mind that the werewolf transformations were so poorly executed. That is pretty much the whole point of making a werewolf movie. Oh and there is only about 10 minutes of actual plot.

the cop in this movie knows about werewolves, thinks they're fake and doesn't know about silver bullets?! come on!! how much worse can the writing for the movie get?

Is so god awful that it is actually awesome. The effects are seriously worse than a ps1 game, they look like N64 cut scenes. Its a truly shit movie I suggest you take a shot every time someone mentions "THE DARWOLF" you'll be smashed in ten minutes.

This film brings a whole new meaning to awful - the werewolf make-up, CGI transformations, script and acting are all bottom of the ladder. Gets a star purely for the unnecessary lesbian scene.

What's a half-breed hybrid?
