Movie Info

Lau Yu-ming spins this romantic drama about a young woman looking to understand her past by working on a remake of classic 1960s Hong Kong film Days of Tomorrow, which starred her deceased father Fong Tak-shing. Her mother, still brooding from her brief affair with Tak-shing, refuses to tell her daughter anything about her father, creating a rather ugly riff between the two. Via a series of flashbacks, Tak-shing (Andy Lau) is seen growing from a rowdy boy on the streets into a handsome and charismatic leading man, under the mentoring of screen diva Nancy Mei (Carrie Ng). Yet when he is cast opposite his old girlfriend Ling (Jay Lau Kam-ling), he falls in love all over again. When lecherous studio exec Lui (Henry Fong Ping) -- who has designs on the young starlet -- learns that Ling has become pregnant with Tak-shing's child, he sows the seeds of suspicion and distrust.
