It's a very real film. At least I it seems as though it could be. I lack a vagina and this is a very feminine film. It looks at a series of relationships through a series of generations. Menopause, lesbianism and choosing between the safe nice guy and the alluring bad ass, all come into play here. The film has a certain honesty that is lacking from many movies. Unfortunately a lot of the film wallows in self pity and can become slightly whiny. For the most part though this is a very good film, but one that fails to engage for the whole 2 hours.
I loved this movie! The girls are all just very realistic dealing with their problems in love and relationships - each girl representing a different phase in life and dealing with different issues. From headstrong A-Mi trying to change her life around to menopausal Young-mi to the cute young daughter Kang-ae experiencing her first love and an awakening. You can't help but fall in love with each of the girls and root for them until the very end to come out on top with their problems and have everything work out. Luckily each gets their resolution in their own way and all is right in the world. This would have been a great date type movie to see with your special someone.
