Movie Info

This German-produced film was made by American B-movie director Sam Fuller especially for his European fans who have far more respect for his films than their Yankee counterparts. The story centers on the attempts of a hard-boiled private dick to bust open a ring of international smugglers. He is assisted by his lovely sidekick. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi

Audience Reviews for Dead Pigeon on Beethoven Street

A striking new print at UCLA. A full house. A really dull and quite inept film. DEAD PIGEON ON BEETHOVEN STREET is the only film Sam Fuller directed between 1967 and 1980. It's a mess of a film that makes one ask, "have these filmmakers ever seen a movie?" Made me totally re-evaluate my feelings about Fuller and finally realized, except THE NAKED KISS, his work is fairly mediocre. He pushed the boundaries of subject matter in the 50s but the filmmaking is always quite empty. Another icon shot down by a poor later work.
