78% Instead of Harleys, they've an eighteen wheeler. Bit of a cult film, due to its nonexistent availablity.

Interesting more for who passes through the film than the episodic rambling storyline. Alan Arkin turns in his usual accomplished performance, his is really the only character with any dimension although Paul Benedict is fine in a part vastly removed from his most famous role as Mr. Bentley on The Jeffersons. The rest of the time it's more a case of spot the up and coming or once famous star passing through than any kind of sensible story. It's a shame that the director had old pros Ida Lupino and George Raft at his disposal and wasted them in what is nothing more than a bit that could have been played by anyone. Not for viewers who enjoy a firm narrative line through their pictures.

I was so excited to finally see this forgotten lost classic on Netflix. It was never released theatrically or on home video. The last time I saw it until now was in the late 80's on A&E late night. It tells the story of an odd and possibly insane truck driver named Cooper who steals a semi cab and trailer from a family of thieves and takes to the open road unaware of where he is going or what he is hauling. Along the way he picks up a hitchhiker and the movie becomes a buddy road picture with alot of eccentric characters they meet along the way. I am a big Alan Arkin fan and have no doubt that he would have received an Oscar nomination had this film been released. Arkin perfected the perfectly quirky and strange 70's anti-hero. If you ever get a chance to see this film, don't miss it.
