Movie Info

In the 1930s, Spanish doctor Fermin (Carmelo Gómez) leaves the mainland to tend the patients of Lanzarote, one of the Canary Islands. There, Fermin meets the beautiful but mysterious Mararia (Goya Toledo), and quickly falls in love with her. But their romance is interrupted by the entrance of dashing English scientist Bertrand (Iain Glen), who catches Mararia's eye. After a torrid affair with Bertrand, Mararia discovers that she's pregnant, and Fermin is furious with envy.
