Audience Reviews for Deathquake (Earthquake 7.9) (Jishin rettô) (Magnitude 7.9)

It always amazes me how movies are release with more then one name. This is also part of the Grindhouse Experience 20 Film Collection Volume 1. Its from the Japanese Filming Company Toho Company who were famous for there monsters flicks in the 70'ies. With this movie they branched out but still seemed to use the Godzilla attacking the city during moments of destruction during the movie. Also same effects while city was undergoing an earthquake. The movie itself is about a Japanese scientist who is predicting a major earthquake and no one is listening. This is kind of a disaster / love triangle movie mixed as the scientist is going to leave his wife to marry a co worker whom he has fallen in love with. No one believes the quake is coming except of course the co worker. But then the quake comes and people are trapped, the city is burning, and who does the scientist end up with? Dam if I know I was so confused by this time. Anyway found the movie very interesting after the recent earthquake in Japan. 2 1/2 stars
