The Songs are catchy and the acting is good for the most part. But the effects are really ridiculous and somehow everyone has the collective intelligence of an potato. Also the movie isn't well structured. If you liked the first one, you should also watch this one.
China carried that whole movie on her back 💯
Less inspired than the first, but man if this universe isn't still squeezing out plenty of great dance numbers and lots of bright fun. Also, has anyone else noticed how woke these movies are? The diversity of all types in the casting is noble, and the song between Eve and Mal is a sweet celebration of female friendship.
The sequel is much more better than the original; better songs, better acting and more time spent in the Isle of the Lost area where Mal, Evie, Carlos & Jay are from.
More "Descendants" are introduced, such as Uma (Ursula's daughter) and Harry Hook (Captain Hook's son) and Dizzy (Drizella's daughter, so granddaughter of Lady Tremaine from Cinderella".
There's the element of fantasy with the appearance of a dragon, a sea battle and a talking dog. And the styles of the outfits are better too
Descendants 2 is a 2017 sequel to the 2015 Disney film Descendants. The film was directed by Kenny Ortega, and stars Dove Cameron as Mal and China Anne McClain as Uma.
The film may not be on the same level as the 2019 remake of The Lion King, but it's still an insult to classic Disney heroes and villains everywhere.
Overall I give it a
2/10 - wouldn't recommend
This one was even better than the first, it is my 2nd favorite Disney Channel original movie and my 2nd favorite tv movie. The music phenomenal and even better than the first ones music especially the songs Space Between, You and Me, Ways to Be Wicked, What's My Name, and Chillin' Like A Villain. The soundtrack is one one of my favorite Disney soundtracks, one of my favorite soundtracks of all time, and one of my favorite albums of all time. The lead acting from Dove Cameron, China Anne McClain, Sofia Carson, Thomas Doherty, Cameron Boyce, Booboo Stewart, and Mitchell Hope was phenomenal. Dylan Playfair, Anna Cathcart, Jedidiah Goodacre, Dianne Doan, and Melanie Paxson gave terrific supporting performances. The costumes that China Anne McClain, Dove Cameron, Sofia Carson, Cameron Boyce, Booboo Stewart, Anna Cathcart, Thomas Doherty, Dylan Playfair, Mitchell Hope, Dianne Doan, and Brenna D'Amico wore were outstanding. The dance sequences were stupendous especially the You and Me sequence, the Chillin' Like A Villain sequence, the Ways to Be Wicked sequence, and the It's Goin' Down sequence. The sets were magnificent especially the Isle of the Lost. The writing and story were superb. The makeup and hairstyling was excellent especially on China Anne McClain, Dove Cameron, Sofia Carson, Cameron Boyce, Anna Cathcart, Jedidiah Goodacre, Booboo Stewart, Dianne Doan, and Dylan Playfair. The visual effects were fantastic especially Uma in her octopus form, Mal as a dragon, and Ursula's tentacle. This one is another A+ movie.
Mal wasn't to bad, she was just rebellious. The songs are great, but you can't feel identified with them like in the first movie songs.
My grandparents made me watch it with my little cousins who are 7, 4, and 2. It was awful, i couldn't stand it, it was just a really bad high school drama but with Disney and magic. I would never recommend it to anyone, i found out there there was a 3rd one and i couldn't bare to watch that one with them. In summary, never watch this movie
I watched this movie with my children and we all loved it. The music and dances are great.
