In this newest installment in the mega-hit "Descendants" franchise, former Villain Kid Uma, now headmaster of Auradon Prep, extends an invite to the school to another VK -- Red, the rebellious daughter of the tyrannical Queen of Hearts from Wonderland. The Queen of Hearts has long held a grudge against Auradon, and especially Cinderella, and seizes the opportunity to seek revenge when she drops her daughter off at school. When the Queen of Hearts incites a coup against Auradon, Red must team up with Cinderella's perfectionist daughter Chloe and travel back in time to try to undo the traumatic event that set Red’s mother down her villainous path.

Descendants: The Rise of Red is a mixed bag. I really enjoyed this cast and the music, but there were a lot of missed opportunities and holes in the story that tied back to the writing team.

I LOVED the first 3 Descendants movies so much, but this one was very disappointing. The main thing for me was the plot. The story did not make sense. The only thing I enjoyed from this movie were the songs. Descendants songs are always the best. But besides that I got very confused with the story as the movie included unnecessary scenes or additional points in the movie. Also I don’t like how the characters/actors did not match the characters they were representing. I feel like the making of this movie was unnecessary.

I’d give it a 3.5-4/5. Is it as good as the others? No. But as a descendants fan, is it worth a watch? Absolutely. Actresses/actors did a fantastic job and it’s definitely a fun movie with amazing music. Not the most unpredictable plot but hey, it’s disney. Go watch it, it’s good!

Synopsis
