Movie Info

Desert Phantom is an expectedly exciting Johnny Mack Brown western from his A.W. Hackel/Republic Studios period. Brown plays his standard "heroic stranger," this time named Billy Donovan, who champions the cause of the heroine, beleaguered ranchowner Jean Haloran (Sheila Mannors). The villains intend to drive Jean off her property, staging raids on her livestock in the dead of night. Quick on the trigger and quicker with his fists, Billy proves more than a match for the marauding baddies. Perhaps it goes without saying that swarthy Charlie King is prominent among the heavies.
