Desperate Souls tries to be a horror film but it doesn't even have wax to light the candle. The filmmakers use the common camera style of shaking the camera. This was supposed to make it scary-it doesn't work. It makes the film really annoying. The acting is horrific, which to say the least the only horrific thing in the film. The writing lacks in the continuity of the story telling. If I were to grade this film it would be an F. I, in fact, gave it a weak one star. It's not worthy to be called a film.
P.S. This film has been known to claim that the actor Benjamin McKenzie (The O.C.) is in the film. He is not it is another actor.
hahahaha, this movie. hahhahaha. god. all i can say is. if you take this movie seriously, you are freaken dumb. watch it open minded and you will have fun making fun of it. i believe the filmakers wanted us to think that, atleast thats what i heard over at imdb. great flick for firsttime movie directors. i bet in 10 years, if they make a sequal, it will be a hit. laterz. oh ya, watch the shovel swinging action! NICK is like ASH to our new generation!
Ultra cheap with a dumb story to boot, not a good combination. The score is unusually bad and the acting, although not awful, isn't good either. Hardly scary or spooky, just dumb.
Pretty awful. Terrible acting and poor quality production. But what do you expect from an independent Canadian film shot in Guelph and Acton lol.
P.S. Benjamin McKenzie is not in this movie
I have this movie on dvd and its good. I like the brother that has that Druids book. And i like how the entire gang up and runs their asses off from the damn demons that are after that book. Thats a Plotline and thats a Move. LOL
This movie had bad acting, bad editing, horrible dialog and a terrible story. I have seen some bad low budget films in my time but this film is the worst. I thought it was cool that it was filmed in Guelph. that accounts for the half star I gave the film.
the acting blew, the plot was completely non-existant, and the entirety of the movie was a bunch of kids running around...boring as hell
The only redeeming point of this movie was that it was filmed here in Ontario. Other than that it is pure amateur nonsense.
Horrible acting, horrible editing, horrible dialogue (beyond horrible actually), the lighting was so bad, and who designed the costumes?
Oh man. I want my 90 minutes back.
i couldnt stand to watch all of it, it was so stupid and dumb, crappy plot and story line and the acting sucked big time!
WANT TO SEE THIS ONE
