Plenty entertaining, but consistent with most of Brosnan's Bonds, a few misguided decisions keep it from being a classic.

By honoring the Bond iconography of girls, guns and cars, Tamahori and the screenwriters are able to do something new with Bond: They dare to suggest that Bond is not only human, but also fallible.

Die Another Day faithfully hews to the James Bond formula, giving us all the elements and allowing the '60s formula to not only live, but prosper, into the the new millennium.

Tamahori senses what Bond fans have been missing. He and Brosnan deliver it with style, both deserving to try another day.

A vigorous 20th installment that is as strong on action as it is weak on the interpersonal stuff.

Pierce Brosnan is the best Bond since Sean Connery -- and this is the best Bond movie since Connery's run.

While the franchise's twentieth entry... is certainly not vintage Bond, it does come equipped with the requisite supply of furious action and, in Oscar-winner Halle Berry, perhaps the highest-profile Bond Girl in the franchise's history.

One of these decades someone will make a Bond as good as the titles and the theme music and the martini-ordering. In the meantime, enjoy the accessories.

No one's going to accuse DIE ANOTHER DAY of being a sophisticated spy movie. It's an over-the-top action movie that is to be enjoyed best with a big bucket of popcorn.

An action movie which the word "blockbuster" was practically invented for, super spy James Bond, as portrayed by Pierce Brosnan, returns for his twentieth adventure and strives not to mess with a good (or financially successful) formula.

Die Another Day is both skillful and playful, and that's about as high a compliment as I can give a 007 film.

One of the sturdier and darker of James Bond films.

What makes this the best Bond in years is the surefootedness of Brosnan's performance, as well as Tamahori's fanboy insistence on covering all bases.

One thing remains the same -- the vital fun that a Bond movie brings.

Brosnan's best mission as Bond yet, and the most satisfying installment of the franchise in recent memory.
