Plenty entertaining, but consistent with most of Brosnan's Bonds, a few misguided decisions keep it from being a classic.

By honoring the Bond iconography of girls, guns and cars, Tamahori and the screenwriters are able to do something new with Bond: They dare to suggest that Bond is not only human, but also fallible.

While the franchise's twentieth entry... is certainly not vintage Bond, it does come equipped with the requisite supply of furious action and, in Oscar-winner Halle Berry, perhaps the highest-profile Bond Girl in the franchise's history.

No one's going to accuse DIE ANOTHER DAY of being a sophisticated spy movie. It's an over-the-top action movie that is to be enjoyed best with a big bucket of popcorn.

Face it, Die Another Day simply blows the competition away. If you want excitement, laughs and pure sex appeal, remember one thing: Bond's really do have more fun.

There was absolutely no choice but to dial it down afterward but not because "Die Another Day" is an abomination of which to be ashamed. Alongside "You Only Live Twice," it's Bond at his most aggressively outlandish and shamelessly entertaining.
