What to Know

Critics Consensus

A humanistic variation on one of Steven Spielberg's most revisited themes, Disclosure Day's breathless pursuit of optimism in an age of conspiracy gets its biggest boost from career-highlight work by Emily Blunt.

While Disclosure Day overexplains itself at times, in its final moments, the repeated call to action crashes down on audiences with an unexpected and compelling ambiguity. Go to Full Review

It rewards rewatching to appreciate the bigger concepts, the vital imporance of fearless curiosity, and above all, no matter how much our fragile hearts try to resist, the central purpose of finding understanding and connection. Go to Full Review

Structurally, "Disclosure Day" is one long chase scene with a satisfying payoff at the end, and the audience gets their money's worth in action sequences. Go to Full Review

A science fiction thriller that uses aliens, conspiracies, and chases to explore themes of empathy, truth, and the need to rediscover our shared humanity. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

It’s provocative, it’s frequently dazzling, and it's obviously the work of a master. But the buildup is a bit long and erratic and the payoff is somewhat anticlimactic. It's not Spielberg's best work, but it's still absolutely worth watching. Go to Full Review

Richard 19m Classic Spielberg movie with great characters and build up to an incredible emotional finish! See more mark w 23m Felt like it was just getting started when it ended. See more Priscilla 28m Absolutely exceptional story and cast. Much of the plot follows the recent documentary on Netflix (no spoilers) with a few added twists. This is science, not sci fi. Incredible thriller and deeply satisfying. See more Sarah G 31m Wasn’t really what the trailer suggested. More of a drama than a sci-fi alien movie. See more Andrew 32m the most cliche ridden waste of 2,5 hours in a long time See more Tyler 35m After being disappointed in Masters Of The Universe, I decided to go check out Spielberg’s latest, Disclosure Day. What a phenomenal choice that was. From the moment the film began, I was instantly hooked. Emily Blunt gave a very powerful performance as her character Margaret Fairchild. The fact that she learned to speak Russian + Korean & even creating a whole alien language (which sounded INSANE on the Dolby Atmos speakers in the auditorium) speaks volumes to how much effort & dedication she put into making her character who she was. Steven Spielberg was in his bag with this one. I highly recommend it for those who love sci-fi flicks. Also, shoutout to the actress who portrayed that main news reporter lady, the raw emotion she conveyed in witnessing what was happening in the final act of the movie felt so authentically real. And no, E. T. isn’t in this movie lmao. 5/5 from me! See more Read all reviews
