"Doctor Strange" works when it wants to and it's two hours of general enjoyment; however, as the plot inches towards the end, the film begins to rely heavily on Marvel's comfortable setup to move it forward.

Performances are strong, with Cumberbatch at peak charm-he seems to channel Harrison Ford as Han Solo here and Doctor Strange is genuinely funny.
