Audience Reviews for Doctor Who: Dreamland
An embarassing addition under the Doctor Who name, Doctor Who: Dreamland has subpar to terrible animation, a bad script, a mediocre story, and is utterly forgettable. The Doctor has traveled to the Southwestern United States in 1958 to get a bowl of chili (of all things), but ends up tangled in a Viperox invasion caused by an alien crash eleven years ago, resulting in the creation of Area 51, otherwise known as Dreamland. After running into Cassie, a waitress, and Jimmy, a native american boy, the Doctor investigates the mysterious alien invasion before the Viperox wipe out the earth with a mysterious weapon. The story itself isn't exactly bad, it's just not very good. It has its good moments, but overall it's very generic and not what I expect from Doctor Who. The acting is decent with David Tennant and Georgia Moffett being the best in this serial. Really the main problem is the animation, which can't decide whether this is 2D or 3D animation. The animation is stiff with it being at times worse than a Saturday morning cartoon show. I will give it credit though, it's better than Jimmy Neutron, though that's not saying much. Most of the time it looks like the crappy video game spin-off or online adventure than an actual television episode. If you're a die-hard Doctor Who fan, you've probably already seen this. If you haven't, but your curiousity is way too strong, give it a look but don't expect much. If you were in debate, just skip this one. I will recommend, if I can really recommend an animated Doctor Who serial, I'd recommend "The Infinite Quest". (Real Rating: 41%)
