Audience Reviews for Don't Make Waves

★★★ (out of four) Certainly not a great film, but it is a fun one...and every once in awhile you need a guilty pleasure, even if others might roll their eyes at it. This is plainly a 1960's sex romp, but it features a stunning Sharon Tate, two years before her horrific death. Tony Curtis plays Carlo Cofield, a tourist in Southern California. On the highway he is involved in an accident with Laura Califatti (Claudia Cardinale). He ends up at her beach house. The next day he heads to the beach where he becomes involved with the surf culture filled with beautiful beach bunnies and bronzed bodybuilders. He nearly drowns and is rescued by Malibu (Sharon Tate). He is captivated by her, but she is taken. Her boyfriend is Harry (Dave Draper) a bleached out muscleman. It's a bit too looney, but there is plenty of eye candy to please everyone, plus you might have a little fun watching it as well. [IMG][/IMG]

Extremely high-quality Babe quotient here with spicy Claudia Cardinale and the supreme blonde goddess real-life Malibu Barbie, Sharon Tate, and also the delectable Joanna Barnes. Notable for having Mr. America Dave "The Blonde Bomber" Draper in the cast as the sterotypical California Surfer "Musclehead" (as they derisively called Bodybuilders back in these pre-Arnold days), this one is pure fluff, so don't expect Shakespeare, but it has it's place as a facinating time capsule of that era showcasing Tony Curtis's acting skills, a great musical soundtrack, and some of hollywoods most beautiful women (and for the morbidly curious who want to see what a loss the gorgeous Sharon Tate was to the psycho-murdering Charles Manson gang)...

The one good 60's comedy that Tony Curtis made, Claudia Cardinale is very beautiful and Sharon Tate gives a funny performance.
