½

I remember when this film (along with The Dead Zone and Tree of Might) aired frequently on Toonami in the classic Ocean Dub. Nostalgic fond memories put to the side though; this film is the weakest of the DBZ movies. Despite an interesting set-up and its unusually heavy sci-fi sets, the film falls flat due to weak static action and a pointless villain. The film only runs at about an hour, but it feels longer. Goku hogs too much of the spotlight, giving the rest of the Z fighters nothing to do. What little plot there is makes little sense (Why does Dr. Wheelo want to takeover Gokus body when he already has a super-strong body of his own?). The fight between Goku and Dr. Wheelo blatantly rips off the Vegeta/Goku fight from the Saiyan Saga. Good animation though.

I like all the Dragonball Z movies. The action is top-notch, giving every single punch, kick, and energy blast a good sense of pain and the voice acting is great.
