This is a very different version of Drucke...but here too she has the gift of retaining our sympathy without seeming to ask for it, and of revealing emotion while appearing to cover it up. Go to Full Review

Dominik Moll’s Case 137 presents a thrilling police procedural of the internal affairs variety, set against the backdrop of France’s Yellow Vests protests but crucially not dominated by them. Go to Full Review

The conversations never feel like clunky exposition, but rather like how many of us debate political issues today. Moving and intelligent, Case 137 is a strong argument for less gloss and more reality in movies. Go to Full Review

...a knotty procedural about the inner workings of the force amid budget cuts and intensifying social divisions, all tied together by the excellent Drucke’s morally complex turn as a conscientious cop... Go to Full Review

Noel D @RT56171705 4 days ago An internal affairs police inspector is called upon to investigate the serious wounding of a young man at a Gilet Jaune protest in Paris in 2018. She is particularly diligent in her investigation, perhaps because the victim comes from her home town. This becomes an issue at the end of the case. The lead actress is superb, every emotion showing on her face. It’s the mixture of the personal and political that makes this film so good. It never drags and keeps you in thrall to the story throughout. And the issues it confronts are not confined to France. See more Mauro L @Mauro_Lanari Sep 8, 2026 (Mauro Lanari) A very balanced movie of institutional critique but, give or take an injustice, it doesn’t add anything new. See more J J @RT54021238 Jun 13, 2026 Case 137 (2025) is a crime-drama inspired by true events, following the investigation of a police shooting during a riot. Told in a realistic, documentary-style manner, the film explores police brutality, systemic flaws, bureaucracy, and the fragile relationship between law enforcement and the public. Centered on Stéphanie Bertrand, an officer determined to uncover the truth despite immense pressure, the film is a hard-hitting and unsettling experience that quietly leaves a lasting impact. See more Runa R @runa.r Apr 8, 2026 Excellent film; it grips you from start to finish and shows that the law doesn’t always help. See more dlma1 M @dlma1 Dec 25, 2025 I saw this film at the AFI Film Festival in Hollywood. A French docudrama about a police internal affairs officer investigating the circumstances behind the injury of a protestor in the Paris riots of 2018. The protestor was shot in the head with a rubber bullet (very much against worldwide police protocol). But as you can guess, she encounters the "blue wall of silence" from fellow officers as she tries to investigate. Very well acted by all involved - in particular by Lea Drucker as the investigator. Highly recommended 8/10. See more Mag M @RT04268193 Nov 21, 2025 Great film. An incredible and very realistic dive into the investigation of a female police officer on the actions of some her colleagues during a protest. A boy was badly hurt. Who’s responsible? Where is the truth? The film is very well balanced and brings light to the consequences of some police violence. See more Read all reviews
