Movie Info
The conniving Dr. Ludwig von Saulsbourg (Eric Mayne) can't seem to help a young woman (Mildred Davis) who is continually ill, so her wealthy father (John T. Prince) enlists small-town physician Dr. Jack (Harold Lloyd) to treat his daughter. Dr. Jack believes that kindness and compassion do more good for patients than newfangled potions or vaccines, and before long the girl is feeling better than ever. Unfortunately, she also falls in love with Dr. Jack, which sends the girl's father into a rage.

Mar 07, 2012A sweet tale of a young, idealistic doctor (Harold Lloyd) who manages to cure everyone's ails without actually doing anything medical. He's more of the Patch Adams mindset, you see. He'd rather prescribe fresh air and good humor. Jack faces his biggest challenge when he's asked to check on a beautiful invalid (Mildred Davis, later to become Lloyd's wife). A rival doctor (Eric Mayne) has been keeping her in bed for years, just to siphon off her rich family's funds. Poor girl. A climactic sequence involving an escaped lunatic is a bit burlesque compared to the earlier material, but "Dr. Jack" is still a nice little comedy.eric b Super Reviewer
