The death of a true master signals the end of an era and offers a harrowing sign of things to come in this entry into the popular DragonBall Z anime series. A deadly virus has claimed Goku, and in the wake of the tragedy two androids have set out on a destructive mission to decimate all of the planet's major cities. As the citizens of Earth prepare to meet their eminent doom, Goku's son Gohan teams with the powerful Trunks for one last shot at turning the tables on their destroyers and ensuring the survival of the human race. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Dragon Ball Z: The History of Trunks (1993) ??? 1/2 The best movie of the DB series is a powerful, beautifully directed piece if anime. Story involves Gohan and Trunk's desperate strive to stop the truly evil androids. Unusually somber for an action story, but uncommonly effective; with some terrific action sequences and painful climax. Ends on a downer I'm afraid.

I love Future Trunks so, of course, I was destined to love this special. The best part of this movie is watching Trunks grow into the young man that we first see him as in the series. This special made perfect sense in the fact that it has to go along with the time period of Dragonball Z because it is technically not a part of the series but rather side story that just says, "Hey, just in case you ever wondered here is what happened on Future Trunks' world." Definitely my favorite special and/or movie of Dragonball Z.

A fantastic anime DBZ movie!!! Trunks my favorite Super Saiyan portrays how he became for the first time Super Saiyan and also how Gohan trained him and the battle of the Androids. The Dragon Ball Z saga continues in yet another thrilling episode of the popular anime series. This time, the masterful Goku shows he's vulnerable to disease when he contracts a virus and can't be saved from inevitable death. Because he's gone, androids nab the chance to take over. But they didn't count on Goku's son, Gohan, returning to avenge his father's death which he does, determined to seek justice for all.
