Dragons: Gift of the Night Fury Reviews

  • Aug 15, 2019

With an interesting plot despite the short runtime that allows for more worldbuilding and fascinating lore as well as animation that's on par with that of the first film despite being done on a smaller budget, Dragons: Gift of the Night Fury just might be the best of DreamWork's half-hour Christmas specials.

Short and sweet. A good timekiller with a few carrying, fun elements to keep people hooked for its short runtime.

151218: Merry Christmas Toothless. Reveals Viking & dragon Christmas traditions. They have done well with this franchise. Great animation, colour and characters.

Fans of the big screen movies should find this holiday adaptation every bit as enjoyable. With animation clearly above other small screen efforts from DreamWorks Dragons series and a story that further builds the boy and his dog friendship between Hiccup and Toothless. At only 22 minutes it doesn't qualify as an independent feature but serves well as a holiday offshoot from what is probably DreamWorks best franchise

This is incredibly heartwarming and funny, has wonderful animation, and a great cast. This fits in perfectly with the movies.
