Peggy K Mar 25 Huge fan of Dusty Slay. Can't tell you how many times I've used his tag line, "we're having a good time," to raise the vibe in some tricky situation. And his signature hand wave--I use that every day. It's the perfect greeting when passing someone on the road, acknowledging them or thanking them for their courtesy. For me to like a standup they have to be (a) very funny, and (b) have a genuine fondness for their fellow human beings, even if they're making some jokes at their expense. Slay fits the bill, along with a small select group that includes Jerry Seinfeld and Nate Bargatze. (I also prefer clean comedy, making a major exception for the brilliant George Carlin.) His whole show feels like I'm supposed to be laughing at his anxiety, OCD, and obvious concealed anger issues. That's not funny, it's just depressing. I was not having a good time. Most entertainment has, music, cinema, etc. This special was incredibly refreshing, a literal breath of fresh, clean air. Very funny and the timing and continuation of the jokes is reminiscent of the greats. I have no doubts that we will see many more specials from Dusty Slay. The special was good for a couple chuckles, but the problem is his brand of comedy can be incredibly dull and at times painful.
