Movie Info

The star of a water show (Esther Williams) is secretly in love with her boss (Van Johnson), so she tries to make him jealous by coquettishly coming on to both a swimming instructor (John Bromfield) and a singer (Tony Martin). Busby Berkeley staged the musical numbers.

...the music and water ballets and the fact that Ms. Williams looks lovely contribute to making the film at least mildly entertaining.

Audience Reviews for Easy to Love

Pleasant, colorful MGM musical with plenty of water ballets, including the famous finale with Williams on skis courtesy of Busby Berkeley.

★★1/2 (out of four) Extravagant and colorful MGM musical where the well staged water shows and the musical numbers by Tony Martin upstages the recycled plot and silly delivery. Van Johnson plays the boss of a musical show in Palm Beach, Florida. His star performer (Esther Williams) is being wooed by her swimming partner (John Bromfield), a wealthy playboy (Tony Martin) and the boss himself. Williams is ravishing as usual and the setting is beautiful, but the musical extravaganza is wearing a bit thin.
