What it lacks in scares, however, Eight Legged Freaks makes up for with gallons of gooey-green spider guts.

A fun, fantastic homage to the B movies of the golden age of horror cinema...

The best giant-spider movie I've seen in quite some time.

There's something distasteful about a supposed 'B-movie' made with the financial backing of a major Hollywood studio and production company.

If you want to enjoy a campy but fun B-movie, then go with a real B-film . . . Don't fall for mainstream Hollywood's pale big-budget imitation.

Isn't it worth paying into any film that features a talking parrot writing off The Sixth Sense with just a single line?

While the gigantic spider animation is not bad in this movie, just about everything else is absolutely awful, including the story, the dialogue, and especially the acting.

Fun comedy horror that recognizes its limitations and revels in its own absurdity, though too polite to be a classic in its genre.

Some of the movie succeeds; some of it falls flat. But you can't say it doesn't try to live up to the corny reputation of sci-fi in the mid-twentieth century.

Eight Legged Freaks clearly wants to be a Gremlins for the 21st century, but never quite makes it due to lackluster character development and shaky pacing.

It's actually kinda scary. Scary in a really, really dumb way, but scary!

After rolling out the trusty old 'radiocative barrel in the lake' routine, Eight Legged Freaks flips through the pages of the monster movie manual - written in the 50s by classics such as Them and Tarantula - and doesn't miss a trick.

The enormo-spiders have exactly the right presence, but the movie fails in its hour of introduction; its townspeople are not funny, they're boring.

A ridiculous but enjoyably campy 'creature feature' that serves as the logical extension of goosey, B-movie matinee shenanigans in a world gone 'X-treme.'

It knows the cliches of B movies, but not the intentions.
