A very passable kung-fu movie starring Sammo Hung. It's funny and action packed.

An affectionate, amusing homage to Bruce Lee and ENTER THE DRAGON. Sammo replicates Bruce Lee's moves and demeanor amazingly well, adding his own sly wink of humor at the ridiculousness of the endeavor.

This is a comedy parody of Bruce Lee movie. Mixture of comedy and fighting but not enough from either Sammo Hung is a pig farmer send to the big city to help his uncle stall. He looks like peeing from back view when the police approach him but he is actually squeeze dry his soaked clothes. Sammo arrive at the place and accidentally broke some bowls from Meg Lam and she demand compensation from the uncle. Their stalls are front and back in a small backlane. Lu Chu Shih is the store assistant. Ankie Lau & Lee Hye-suk are two regulars at the stall. Sammo is doing delivery when he help a lady chase after 2 robbers. When he return the food are stolen. Some gangsters eat for free at Meg stall and she want them to visit the other stall next time. They really came and even beat Lu. Sammo beat them up and get the money. The uncle blame Lu because his dream is to be artist. So he left and his old friends want him to imitate art to sell. He refuse that. The gangsters return and destroy the stall and Sammo isn't around. He find a job in the same restaurant the 2 ladies work. A caucasian try to get fresh with Lee and the manager step in. He criticize the actor doesn't look like Bruce Lee. He hit Sammo for real and he got angry and beat him back. The director and extras are beaten up too. The 2 thugs are at the re-open stall and they put drugs into the soup serve to Lee. They pretend to bring her to hospital. Ankie tell Sammo and Lu. The thugs bring her to Peter and Roy seal the deal. Sammo fight the 3 fighters one by one and win. Finally he want to go back and feel the city life isn't suitable.

A martial artist and loyal fan of Bruce Lee leaves the comfort of his country home lifestyle to venture into the big city, to help his uncle with his small restaurant. However, his penchant for getting into other's problems and using his fists get him into trouble.

The plot is rather haphazard and all over the place, most of it being either a silly joke or the main character getting into trouble.

The fights are the highlight of the film. This is the ultimate homage to Bruce Lee, and the style of fighting and mannerisms are very well done.

During the climax, Sammo must defeat three martial arts masters in a warehouse, but he gets tired as he dispatches each assailant. After this long battle, we are treated to one of the best comedic endings ever, with his buddy telling him the girl was fine and is resting in the hospital. (funny because Sammo is getting his ass kicked and didn't really even need to fight the masters)

Although the pace is dodgy and the dialogue not the best, a fun martial arts flick with some decent fights and nods to Bruce Lee.

Sammo Hung Kam-Bo was one of my favorite action heroes I adored as a kid. He was as comical and strong as Jackie Chan. Where is he now, by the way?

Sammo Hung imitating Bruce Lee isn't to be missed, though Hung's signature style (a mix of power and gracefulness) shines through in the kung fu choreography.

Enjoyable early Sammo flick. Forget all those Bruce guys, this is the second coming of Bruce Lee! Very comedic which drifts into brutal violence, like all his movies. Entertaining movie for fans of kung fu.

Its Sammo Hung poking fun at Bruce Lee. What more could you ask for?

Sammo is the best Bruce Lee impersonator ever, period. Lee Hoi-San in black face is the most memorable part of this movie for me though.

Hilarious. Sammo Hung does a great job on this one.

Not a great movie by any stretch of the imagination, but the fights are generally pretty good - as you'd expect when Sammo Hung's involved. The rest of the movie is devoted to the least sophisticated comedy stylings possible.

It is easy to concur with other reviews that Sammo Hung does the BEST Bruce Lee impersonations of anyone. For a big dude, his moves are fluid and graceful as always. This is a fairly early flick in Sammo‚??s career, being his third directorial job. However, this flick is not of the same quality as either of his first two directoral stints: "Iron Fisted Monk" (1977) and the classic "Two Warriors" (1978, the same year as "Enter The Fat Dragon"). "Enter The Fat Dragon" may be a labor of love (Sammo was a self-professed fan and friend of Bruce), but it was low budget and shows.

The fights in this movie are decent in quality but too few in quantity ‚?? the one on the movie set with the ‚??actor‚?? impersonating Bruce Lee is pretty good, especially since Sammo is a MUCH better Bruce impersonator than the other dude, who looks more like Bruce. Let‚??s face it, Sammo could never be mistaken for Bruce! The end fight in the warehouse is also pretty good (see below). There‚??s also a decent one where Sammo dispatches ‚?? Bruce-style of course ‚?? multiple punks in his uncle‚??s restaurant who won‚??t pay their bill. Otherwise the movie is mostly silly comedy and poor dialog.

The fight in warehouse with Leung Kar Yan and the two other dudes is pretty decent and is a cool homage to "Enter The Dragon" (ETD) ‚?? and the only real nod to that movie aside from the title and an opening sequence where Sammo is being transported by boat in the marina. The white dude in the warehouse fight is clearly supposed to represent the Peter Archer character ‚??Parsons‚?? from ETD (the limey bully who challenges Bruce on the junk while on the way to Han‚??s island and is tricked into meeting Bruce on ‚??that island over there‚??), while the Chinese dude in black face, crazy afro wig and sideburns is a Jim Kelly nod. Of course Bruce didn‚??t fight Kelly in ETD, but had he he‚??d have probably kicked his arse like Sammo does the Kelly stand-in in "Enter The Fat Dragon". While not nearly so obvious, Leung Kar Yan might be a nod to Shek Kin‚??s ‚??Han‚?? character from ETD. It‚??s too bad Leung‚??s fight sequences in this movie were so limited as he‚??s one of the most under-rated and un-heralded of the HK stars of the 70/80‚??s.

In the end, "Enter The Fat Dragon" is a 2 star flick, with limited 3-4 star fights that Sammo and Bruce fans will appreciate but others might skip without missing too much.

Pas franchement genial... En fait, plutot moyen, pour une comedie de Kung Fu. Du meme realisateur/acteur/choregraphe des scenes de combat, je conseille plutot Pedicab Driver.

Highly entertaining. Definitely some of Sammo's best work (along with Odd Couple and Magnificent Butcher). Comedy, excellent choreography, and Sammo vs. Leung Kar Yan? I'm there.

Sammo Hung gives the best Bruce Lee impression ever.

this film also features Hoi San Lee playing a black man, which is unintentionally hilarious.

lots of fun, and the finest Bruce Lee tribute you could hope for.
