A class system family satire that finds everything about the human condition laughable. A needy elderly woman with three married sons becomes increasingly burdensome to her three daughters-in-law; one poor, one middle-class, and one affluent. The fast-paced comic dialogue has all of its conniving characters in one form of personal scandal or other to expose their greed, hypocrisy, manipulation, lies, and mere sloth. Very funny movie I hope everyone gets a chance to see. Thanks to CountessPilu for turning me on to this one.

This is THE classic of the Argentinian movies. It's hilarious. It shows you some typical families fighting for a typical problem. All the characters are so well defined. And by the way: the person that plays the role of the old lady is in fact a man, an Argentinian comedian, Antonio Gasalla. He does it pretty well, doesn't he? Anyway, you should really see this one.
