I thought this was a damn good movie right here because it does deal with something very real in a sweet and touching manner without coming across as over the top or overtly sentimental. It explores the relationship between a father and a daughter and seeing how the father's only way he can get to know Justine is through his friendships with her exes. He does this as he was away for most of Justine's childhood as he was touring throat world in a jazz band. Justine hasn't exactly been distant from her father but she keeps him as far away from her life as is humanly possible while still seeing him. And Justine drives an even bigger wedge between them when she finds out her father and his current wife are gonna have a child. Sometimes Justine comes across as unlikable and irrational, seeing how her father is such a fun man to be around, but at the same time her anger is understandable as it's clear that his absence in her life had a huge effect in the adult she became. Dating lots of guys and quickly dumping them for fear of getting attached. So the movie definitely explores some familiar themes but it does so in an entertaining manner and with surprising complexity. The acting is pretty damn good either as is the writing. I don't really have much to say, but this is a really good movie about the importance of family. Perhaps the pacing was a little iffy, but the movie is still worth watching.
