This takes quite a while to get going and, once it arrives, it’s relentless and meanspirited. (There’s already an extensive entry up at Does the Dog Die?.) But it’s also undeniably stylish. Go to Full Review

Overall, I was mostly bored with the monotonous bloodshed and relentlessly harsh mood of Evil Dead Burn. It’s tedious and overstays its welcome. Go to Full Review

Vaniček brings raw French gore to Evil Dead Burn—brutal, kinetic, gleefully bloody. Script's predictable and the trauma subtext feels thin, but Yacoub's fierce lead turn and nasty practical gore make this the franchise's most vicious entry yet. Go to Full Review

Burn is the Evil Dead franchise’s equivalent of a pro wrestling match. And Vaniček’s entry is taking you directly to a deadite royal rumble. Go to Full Review

Blake K 50m REVIEW: “EVIL DEAD:BURN” “Heaven help us!” NO SPOILERS!!! The thing about “EVIL DEAD” movies, believe it or not, is their stories are actually decent, and even have a sense of believability about them, when it comes to gore. This movie does not. “EVIL DEAD:RISE” was so good about this, it captivated you, watching a hell going on in a confined space, like the other movies, and you were on the edge of your seat. This movie did not. Don’t get me wrong, there are some beautifully directed and edited death scenes that make you cringe, especially in confined spaces. My favorite was the “CAR FIGHT SCENE”(see the movie) But overall they ramped up the gore, and decided also to allow you to watch more of it, for a longer time. Also, I read where this movie was going to be “NC-17”, but they deleted a scene so gruesome, as the movie raters told them to, so they could keep it “R”. After having seen this movie, LOL, I can’t even imagine what that scene was? Because in “EVIL DEAD:BURN” they seem to take extra pleasure in making you squirm. To my point above, in the previous movies, when the “DEADITES” attacked, they killed you, maimed you, or you just weren’t in the movie much longer than you needed to be. Which always, to me gave me the feel of a “RESIDENT EVIL” game, the last remaining main characters then turned the movie to “SURVIVAL HORROR”. Which, in turn, keeps you guessing, and fearful for them, as you feel for them. But in this movie, especially the “LIVING ROOM SCENE”, there are so many people fighting, and battling, and crushing people, even for myself, who has a vivid imagination…it was too much. As I kept saying, “That would have killed them, how are they still alive?” So, of course, I thought the movie felt a little too long, at 1 hr and 50 minutes. Lastly, there were a few plot lines they never played up, especially with the one brother “JOSEPH” being a writer, and writing a book about his grandfather(the original man in “EVIL DEAD” who wrote the book) They just seemed to let the story fail, instead, going with gore. GOOD: Direction, Editing, Sound, Makeup, and some of the Death Scenes. BAD: Story, Gore which never ended, Acting for some of the actors. Also, as I always say, this is NOT for anyone under 18, maybe under 25, one of the goriest movies I’ve seen in a long time, please, please don’t take your underage kids to see it. This movie is so brutal, and so gory even a “MASOCHIST”, at the end of the movie would say, “Phew! Glad that’s over!” Also there are 2 end credit scenes, which seemed really odd for an “EVIL DEAD” movie, because usually everyone dies. Also, they keep saying it’s better than “EVIL DEAD:RISE”, but it’s not, sorry to break it to you. 6 OF 10 See more Alex 1h Oh my god this takes the cake! The camera angles in this film and the Transitions are immaculate!!! the actual creepyness and chaos and OH the TENSION?? you'll get what I mean when you see it. this movie is amazing and I need to go back asap and watch it again See more Nathan Carrender 1h Absolutely loved this movie. There is yet to be a bad film for the evil dead franchise. See more Alex 2h This felt like an Evil Dead movie. I liked how they added family and spouse abuse into it, it made the deadites consuming the family feel really intense. (Shout-out the the costume designer). I cannot wait for Evil Dead Wrath. See more C 2h Just a sloppy film all around. Quite a disappointment. See more rosie 2h Pretty good, had some funny parts. See more Read all reviews
