I guess we've arrived at the point where even movie titles are dogwhistles?
January 11, 2021
The movie writes some checks it can't cash, ending violently and anticlimactically with a peabrained cliche.

If confronted with Fatale on, say, a mid-length domestic flight, it will gamely fill up the time between drink service and a nap.
January 9, 2021
The tedious thriller starring Michael Ealy and Hilary Swank adds nothing new to the genre of female psycho movies...
January 8, 2021
Fatale has one too many contrivances, one too many convenient plot twists, that by the end none of it seems especially worthy of the trip.
January 7, 2021
This neo-noir isn't quite sure what it wants to be.
January 4, 2021
What should've been extra is just a basic thriller, albeit with a little convolution, that only succeeds off the commitment from [Hilary] Swank.

Fatale is a car crash of a film, but one that you can't look away from. Every twist gets more and more ridiculous. The cast of usually charismatic and talented actors appear to have decided to not even try.
December 29, 2020
The issues of race and racism that get layered in slackly may lend a relevancy to the film, but without Swank, there's nothing to see here.

"The Intruder" team of Deon Taylor and David Loughery are back with another cheesy thriller starring Michael Ealy and an award winning star, this time two-time Oscar winner Hillary Swank slumming and having a ball doing so for the second time in 2020
December 29, 2020
Mindless thrillers are one of my favorite guilty pleasures, but this one is just too ridiculous and uninspired to recommend.
December 28, 2020
It's a well-shot bit of glossy filmmaking where the director feels too timid to deliver on the melodrama.
December 28, 2020
Just like low-quality counterfeit merchandise that ends up falling apart, Fatale is a flimsy and forgettable rehash of the formula that made Fatal Attraction a classic.
December 24, 2020
Despite some visual flair, the overheated film never gets much narrative traction from its red herrings or melodramatic twists. By the final act, it's just ridiculous.
December 23, 2020
Taylor is basically asleep behind the camera, giving the endeavor a Lifetime Movie vibe with flat performances and no particular sense of style.
December 22, 2020
Tacky and tawdry - more sleazy than slick...
December 21, 2020
If you must watch, pair it with The Hunt, and at least you'll get to enjoy an entertaining double feature of Hilary Swank turned all the way up to eleven.
December 19, 2020
Fatalehas zero creativity in the filmmaking, the performances are hollow and, despite plenty of shooting, stabbing and manipulating, the story is quite dull. It's more soap opera than it is film.
December 18, 2020
The movie requires her to go full on crazy-ass slasher-bitch, much like the character at the end of another movie previously mentioned here.
December 18, 2020
While it is sort of amusing to see [Hilary Swank] jumping head-first into unadulterated trash for a few minutes, it soon becomes more depressing to see her talents squandered on something as idiotic as this.
