Fearless Hyena Part II is a 1983 Hong Kong martial arts action film produced and directed by Lo Wei, and starring Jackie Chan. It was intended to be the sequel to The Fearless Hyena. Basic Plot - Two cousins (played by Jackie Chan and Austin Wai) get together to avenge the death of their fathers, who were killed by two rivals.

When film producer Willie Chan left the Lo Wei Motion Picture Company to join Golden Harvest, he advised Jackie Chan to decide for himself whether or not to stay with Lo Wei. Chan began work on the film, but then broke his contract and joined Golden Harvest. This prompted Lo to blackmail him with triads, and to blame Willie Chan for his star's departure. The dispute was resolved with the help of fellow actor and director Jimmy Wang Yu, allowing Chan to stay with Golden Harvest.

In order to complete the film, Lo hired stunt doubles to take Chan's place in the remainder of the film, and used alternative takes and reused footage from the first film. Chan mentions that the end product of the film was so bad that he even tried to stop it from being released by going to court, but Lo released the film regardless.

(1983) Fearless Hyena II
DUBBED
ACTION COMEDY

After the success of "The Fearless Hyena", (the director of some Bruce Lee films- Fist of Fury and The Chinese Connection) films by the name of Lo Wei or Wei Lo took the opportunity to copy and then paste scenes from the first Fearless Hyena film or use the extra scenes that weren't used on the first one to put this second one together then calling it a sequel to the "1979" blockbuster hit. Advertised on the poster as Jackie Chan being in this film when he clearly has nothing to do with this sequel or project what-so-ever- for he had no intentions making a sequel at all! Jackie Chan of course tried to prevent this from happening by taking Lo Wei or Wei Lo to court and unsuccesfully wasn't able to do anything about it!

Anybody who "hasn't" seen the first should enjoy this film but anybody who has seen the first "Fearless Hyena" should be able to recognize what scenes were reused and vice versa. All I can remember was that the ending of this sequel was directly copied and then paste from the first one! Also if you can afford to waste a dollar for curiosity sake then by all means!

Not bad or good. Once again kung fu fighting looked good but some elements went to a little bit too far.

Probably the worst Jackie Chan movie I have seen. Only scenes with Jackie are actually worth seeing, the story was nothing special. I guess only thing interesting about this movie is that Jackie did some camera work himself on it..

Proves that when Jackie does NOT direct his own films, it turns out worse than it's predecessor. Bad pacing, unimpressive fight scenes overall, awkward editing, and perpetual disinterest pervade here. However, the two villians work well for the film and stands out as the most memorable aspect. Good music, as well, but this is one that can, and probably should, be missed.

This is the second sequel of Fearless Hyena. Not as good as the first but the storyline was good and the acting was great.

Not a proper JC film, but deserves a star for the jacket trick!
