Movie Info

Mystery Science Theater 3000 masterminds Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy, and Bill Corbett reunite to skewer yet another notoriously outrageous B-movie classic as The Wild Women of Borneo receives the same sarcastic treatment afforded to such previous Film Crew releases as Killers from Space and Hollywood After Dark. Mother Nature and Father Time had never been so cruel as they were when they conducted their deplorable experiment on Wongo Island. The beauties that live in this lush tropical paradise have been led to believe that mankind is a collection of horrific apes like the savage creatures that inhabit the other side of their island. When a handsome prince from a neighboring island arrives to pay the girls a visit, however, the women gradually begin to wonder if they are being purposefully misled. It appears that all men from the prince's island are as handsome as this new arrival, and now as the beastly Wongo males prepare to select their mates the stage is set for a savage confrontation.

Audience Reviews for Film Crew: Wild Women of Wongo

Another good riff from the stars of Rifftrax and the later seasons of MST3K. This movie is probably the worst they've done, and the riffing is outstanding. Very hilarious.

The sharp-tongued critics behind Mystery Science Theater 3000, Mike Nelson, Bill Corbett and Kevin Murphy return as The Film Crew. Their target is the wonderfully named Wild Women of Wongo... The bonkers premise of Wild Women of Wongo starts with the bored Mother Nature and Father Time creating two tribes. The first is the Wongo tribe, filled with beautiful women and ugly men. The second is the Goona tribe, filled with attractive men and ugly women. As the two tribes meet, chaos ensues. Naturally enough, the film is terrible. Poor enough to worry for the sanity of those involved in its production, it probably deserves to languish unloved in a vault somewhere. For some strange reason director James L. Wolcott elected to insert footage of a squawking parrot into the movie whenever things needed livening up, something that becomes highly annoying the third time around. With a film as misguided and downright silly as this, the big question is can the Film Crew make it even funnier? It's the kind of movie that unwittingly challenges the audience to make their own jokes, and although there are some extremely amusing comments from the Film Crew, you can't help but feel that they picked a very easy target with this one. If you love MST3K then the Film Crew series is worth a look.

a one star movie made two stars better by the MST crew heckling in the background, natch. filmed in beautiful florida (hey! that's where they filmed "flipper" too! calm down, little johnny) this epic was simply an exploitive reason to get men and women to dress in loincloths and to run around like they were prehistoric types (they've never done THAT in hollywood before!) and to rassle one another, what joy. JUST like it was way back when...
