Employing even basic logic engenders a recognition of how truly stupid this screenplay is, especially when it comes to the resolution.
Bautista has the low-key charisma, natural appeal and formidable physicality necessary for an action star, and he makes Final Score worth watching (at home while eating pizza and drinking beer, preferably) despite its endlessly derivative elements.
Working from a script by Jonathan Frank, David T. Lynch and Keith Lynch, Mann proves equally efficient at action and drama.
Possibly the least political movie about terrorism ever made, "Final Score" has no ambitions beyond pure escapism, and it meets its humble goal.

As long as you're prepared to suspend your disbelief, Final Score is an enjoyable old-school action romp.
This Die Hard in a stadium (and therefore Sudden Death with soccer) is the kind of solid high concept action movie we need more of.
All of it works together to create a highly enjoyable action spectacle, which is all anyone is hoping for when they press play on Final Score.
Final Score does do enough to give you moments you remember after the credits roll, which is more than you can say for most generic action films.
If you need to take a break from reading about all of the acclaimed films you're missing out on seeing at all of fall's prestigious film festivals, go ahead and watch Final Score.
A fun, unassuming Die Hard knock-off, and sometimes that's all you need.
If taken seriously, this is one of the stupidest movies in recent memory. Fortunately, there's a healthy dose of unintentional hilarity along the way, at least until it reaches stoppage time.
