The "fish" in the title of this picture refers to the astrological sign Pisces. Not all of Pittsburgh is due to be saved, but the members of a third-rate NBA basketball team could sure use some salvation. When all the team members except for Moses Guthrie (Julius Erving) quit, astrologer Mona Mondieu (Stockard Channing) and streetwise Tyrone Millman (James Bond III) come to the rescue. The supporting cast includes Jonathan Winters in a dual role, as well as real-life basketball champs Meadowlark Lemon and Kareem Abdul Jabbar.

Audience Reviews for The Fish That Saved Pittsburgh

This is no Space Jam, in fact thereâ??s not a lot here it , but it is deliciously 70â??s and features Dr J and a scene of the Mellon Arena Dome opening fully, which is cool. Sadly the premise is more than a little weak and seemed like it was loosely stitched together to pump a ultra70s soundtrack and watch Dr J Dunk.

Hmm...let's see..Jive is spoken in the first 10 mins of the movie. One player mentions how he should have checked his horoscope..and well..and entire film is created about a team of Pisces Players. Goodness..look out for Stockard Channing and Harry Shearer..This film is sooo bad it's good.

One of those 1970s comedies that got made simply because several comedy starts agreed to appear in it.
