Critics Consensus

The actors are all on key here, but as the movie progress, tension deflates as the far-fetched plot kicks in.

Movie Info

A woman is forced to prove her own sanity to save the life of her daughter in this taut thriller. Kyle Pratt (Jodie Foster) is a successful aircraft designer who has recently been dealing with the traumatic death of her husband. After traveling to Berlin on business with her six-year-old daughter, Julia (Marlene Lawston), Kyle falls asleep on their flight back to New York, only to discover that her daughter has gone missing. While not knowing where Julia has gone is troubling enough, even more disturbing is the insistence by sky marshal Gene Carson (Peter Sarsgaard) and Captain Rich (Sean Bean) that no records indicate that the child ever boarded the jet. As Kyle becomes increasingly desperate to find her daughter, she must prove to the men in charge that her daughter did in fact board the plane with her, and that this turn of events is not a product of her imagination. But if Julia has gone missing, who has taken her and why? Also starring Erika Christensen and Kate Beahan, Flightplan was the first English-language feature from German director Robert Schwentke.

Despite the many plot holes, I found Flightplan thrilling until the end. I love Jodie Foster.

Similar to The Forgotten, a child disappears while the mother desperate looking for her despite no one claims to have seen the child on the plane with her. It gets to the point of boredom because the plot is so predictable and you just can't take the far fetched script anymore, it's not that the acting was bad (We are talking about Jodie Foster here people) but it was just ridiculously lengthy than it really should have been. Not much attention is needed for this film really, if you have never seen similar films before than you might actually enjoy it.

Flightplan may be predictable, but it is mysterious, entertaining and has tense action scenes that will entertain you. Plus it benefits from great acting by its leads Jodie Foster (Silence Of the Lambs, Taxi Driver) and Sean Bean (Goldeneye, Bravo Two Zero) and also benefits from a great villain played by Peter Sarsgaard.

This is the right kind of movie for Jodie Foster to do her thing. Cause she's good at this. It was pretty interesting...But it's the kind of movie where you kind of don't wanna find out what have happened. Cause the secret is more exciting than the truth. But it was a good movie. And I'm glad I saw it
