Twenty-five years after its predecessor charmed auds with an uplifting tale about an unlikely friendship between natural enemies, The Fox and the Hound 2 arrives just in time to serve as a handy-dandy Christmas stocking stuffer.
The question is surely not, are there better sequels or even midquels to the original Fox and the Hound, but, could there possibly be a worse one?
...Stupid and irreverent in a useless way, and a bunch of crappy songs don't help.
It's not hard to see this 2006 midquel as a betrayal of everything the 1981 original stood for.
Outside of profits, it seems pointless to impose this story onto established characters. [Blu-ray]
Milder than the original and full of country music charm.
The Fox and the Hound 2 is never going to live down as a classic, but it isn't terrible. It falls somewhere in the middle of the Disney DVD sequel spectrum.
Ainda que tecnicamente bem realizada e beneficiada pelo charme dos dois personagens-título, esta é uma continuação desnecessária que abandona as mensagens do original e investe numa historinha boba que renda ao estúdio um dinheiro fácil.
...wears out its welcome almost immediately...
Like most sequels, it's a pale imitation of the original.
not a bad sequel. Its a modern Lion King 2. You wouldn't want to listen to the soundtrack but when you do you'll like it.
Not as good as the classic, but not terrible.
I think this was far better than the first one. Though they didn't keep the story same. They should have made this the first one. The story doesn't match with that at all. I was expecting to see what happens after that but was greatly disappointed.
It's an okay attempt at cashing in on the classic original. It is however quite sad to see characters treated in such a way. Every few minutes the film is interrupted by a godawful sing song. Animations alright but this is a film where you might as well watch the original. It adds nothing.
