It's quite common to try and cash in on a film that dared to try something. The problem with this sequel is the lack of story and underwritten characters. This time the whole film revolves around brown acting like mcguver. Brown and dennehy return to the roles of the original and give the film some much needed chemistry. The real issue is they no real room to give us something fresh. The support cast are given much less which is quite the contrast to the original film. The direction sadly turns brown into a character which was not the reason for the first film. The film uses to many gimmicks and basically has no substance. I would have liked to have seen a different story but this very close to the first. The series stalled with this addition which was a shame as brown was good in the lead. The film needed a better script to keep things fresh and interesting. Not a complete flop but quite poor in comparison to the first

Half-hearted followup to the first film isn't nearly as good.

This sequel is more exciting and great special effects with Bryan Brown than the original. Brown seeks the help of ex-cop Brian Dennehy when he gets into trouble.
