Movie Info

Hideyuki Hirayama spins this kids' horror flick about things that go bump in the school. The film opens with a group of children playing on the schoolyard on the first day of summer vacation. Next to their modern concrete elementary school lies its rickety wooden predecessor which, according to legend, is haunted by a ghost named Hanako. When one young second-grade girl (Shiori Yonezawa) sets out to investigate a mysterious bouncing ball by the shuttered edifice, the lass finds herself in the clutches of Hanako herself. As she and her mates try to find her way out of the haunted school, populated by orange monkey creatures and pedagogical goblins, a teacher (Hironobu Nomura) and a chopper-driving mother (Ayako Sugiyama) fight to find them. ~ Jonathan Crow, Rovi

Audience Reviews for Gakkô no kaidan 4

A bit better than average ghost themed japanese film, from the popular haunted school series. This movie (Ghost School 4) will not jolt or surprise you, but it still holds a warm space in my heart; even though its a bit hokey in places. it is also touching and a bit emotional. For those looking for a touch of sentimentality with thier story, look no further than Ghost School won't be disappointed.
