It sustains its entirely wordless 7-minute run-time with terrific physical comedy, eye-popping visuals and a final reveal that's nothing if not stunningly provocative in the current political climate.
[Wraps] up with some effective dark humor that gets to the core of the bleak narrative.
The peace and the beauty of the natural world on display -- via absolutely spectacular photorealistic imagery -- becomes a sharp counterpoint to the unspoken question about the human absence.
Astonishingly life-like animation.
Victor Caire and Gabriel Grapperon have adopted a hyper-realistic style that makes it seem as if the hungry and later happy amphibians are devouring the previously forbidden delights.

Garden Party is a gorgeous, morbid piece of photo-realistic CG animation.
It's very interesting visually, even if the brief story's dark conclusion feels a little too anticlimactic.
This computer-animated student film is a real hoot for most of its seven-minute runtime.
