Critic Consensus: No consensus yet.
This was Polanski's senior thesis film, and, as you might guess, it seems like typical pretentious, art house type stuff. It's not bad though, but it seemed to drag on a get a tad boring. Unlike his other shorts, this one's non-linear, has color sequences, and is a sad and moving tale of an old crone who reflects back on once having hopes, dreams, and ambitions, only to find herself end up as an old and lonely lavatory attendant.
Super Reviewer
The first in color and non-linear storyline, hence the most artistically pretentious among Roman Polanski's short films, and he had to make it that way, because this was his graduation thesis.
