Movie Info

Bells of Capistrano stars Gene Autry as a wandering western troubadour who ambles into a rodeo. The show's lovely owner, Virginia Grey, is being hounded by crooked competitors who want to buy her out at a ridiculously low price. Autry sides with Grey, which puts both their lives in jeopardy. Despite the title, there isn't a swallow in sight in The Bells of Capistrano. The film was Gene Autry's last vehicle before going into military service.

Audience Reviews for Bells of Capistrano

Average Gene Autry western, pleasant songs, food cast and a nice setting. The story is familiar, but it's light entertainment with a good balance of western, music, comedy and drama genres. 5.5/10.
