A very odd science fiction movie written by Gene Roddenberry. This movie is definitely a must see for sci-fi fans.

How do you follow up Star Trek. Gene Roddenberry spent the 1970s coming up with pilots for new Sci-Fi and fantasy series which did not get picked up by the networks. One of these was Genesis II filmed in 1973 which featured Alex Cord playing Dylan Hunt, a NASA scientist who wakes up in a post-apocalyptic future after spending 154 years in suspended animation. Mariette Hartley plays an alluring mutant with two navels who entices Hunt to join her city state of militant, mutant Tyranians. The mutant woman with two navels was Roddenberry's way of getting back at the network censors who made his life miserable back during Star Trek's three seasons on the air. Will Hunt escape the Tyranian's city and save the peace-loving citizens of PAX (dedicated to preserving what was the best in human civiilization?

Gerne Roddneberry's imaginative, but silly tale of a nuclear physicist who wakes up after WWIII many centuries ion the future. Enlisted to help rebuild technology, he becomes a pawn in the struggle between some religious crackpots and a some brighter, but evil secularians who want to build a great big, fat nuclear bomb. Some very imaginative sets, especially the subterranean, super-sonic "subshuttle."

Made for TV.
