Critic Reviews for George Carlin - Doin' It Again

All Critics (1)

Carlin parece mais interessado em fazer uma pregação liberal do que em provocar o riso (e quando tenta fazer graça, surge careteiro e artificial).

The highs of this show -- about 30 great minutes in the middle -- make it a worthwhile pick-up for those looking for thought-provoking laughs.

Audience Reviews for George Carlin - Doin' It Again

I really liked this show. Carlin really shared his approach to language here. He explained he didn't want to be afraid of language; it's only words after all. Sure, that's been his philosophy all along. It was well-presented here. He demonstrated how he can find humor in any topic by examining rape. It takes a confident man to approach that subject. I think he succeeded in proving his point, even if it wasn't the funniest bit he's ever done. The closing bit on euphemisms was spot on. Great bit. Carlin showed how language changed from "shell shock" in WWI, to "post-traumatic stress disorder" in Viet Nam. He explained how language has gone soft over time. He was absolutely correct in that. Great stuff.
