½

Even the best of directors can find themselves in a slump. Such is the case of legendary Godzilla director Ishiro Honda with this movie. An alien organism attaches itself to a space probe in order to make its way to Earth where it terrorizes the inhabitants of a tropical island by possessing three giant monsters: Gezora the cuttlefish, Ganime the crab, and Kamoebas the turtle. It's really not as exciting as it sounds. Gezora is about the only original monster and its execution ruins any possible suspension of disbelief. Of the monsters, Kamoebas is probably the best but he is given a ludicrous looking tongue that makes him look far more goofy than scary. The worst crime the film commits, though, is that it just isn't very entertaining at all. Avoid it unless you're determined to see every kaiju film ever made.
